Typhoon Programmable Accelerator Card
Typhoon can be used for capture of multiple compressed streams received on Ethernet or uncompressed streams via SDI BNC I/O’s. Provides direct memory access (DMA) to host memory for mixing and nonlinear editing (NLE). Typhoon integrated with Ingest software, provides native editing which maintains original encoding without the need for converting to baseband, as is the case with current capture cards. This card simultaneously performs SDI play out of streams received on the IP network.A reference input provides Genlock for synchronous HD-SDI play out.
Typhoon can also be used to encode (AVC-Intra) uncompressed streams received on HD-SDI BNC I/O’s and transmit over Ethernet or DMA to Host memory. An upgrade is available for encoding (AVC-Intra) uncompressed video received over PCIe from Host and transmitting compressed streams back to Host over PCIe.
Apart from video applications, it can be used as Programmable Accelerator Card for various other applications, due to its generic hardware architecture. For example: Network Pattern Matching Search Engine Accelerator Card, High Bandwidth Content Processing Accelerator, etc to name a few.
