The function of the triplet node is to pre-amplify and condition the signals received from thehydrophones and to convert the received signals from conditioning card to Ethernet packets.
The basic functionality of the triplet node can be divided into two. The first PCB does the pre-amplification and the conditioning of signals from three Hydrophones. It also includes an accelerometer cum magnetometer sensor for Roll and Heading measurement.
The second PCB which is stacked with the first PCB acts as a controller for the functioning of both the PCBs. The major functions includes the Ethernet conversion of the Analog signals from the signal conditioning PCB (PCB1), generating synchronizing signals, filter clock, PGA signals, generating signals for sampling ADCs and controls switching action . There is a two port Ethernet switch which is kept on the other side of the hydrophone assembly which does the multiplexing of Ethernet data from the same node and from an external node.
